Indian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IAPMR) is the only National Association in India having specialist medical doctors in PM&R as its members. The association was registered on 14th April 1972 in New Delhi. The association was founded as a professional Society of physicians and surgeons to diagnose treat and rehabilitate patients with illness and physical disabilities.

IAPMR has played a major role in providing PM&R related medical education in the form of Conferences, CME, Workshops, fellowships, awards in India. IAPMR members have contributed immensely in Policies, Acts, Rules, Regulations, Guidelines etc. to contribute in comprehensive healthcare of the Citizens of India. The People with Disabilities (दिव्यांगजन) benefit the most from these with the latest guidelines on disability evaluation and UDID as well as norms of accessibility.
