Bihar association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (BAPMR)is a registered body in Bihar under Societies registration Act 1860. BAPMR society is a group of modern medicine allopathic doctors who are called Physiatrist (MBBS,MD/DNB/Diploma in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) or holding faculty positions in the Dept of PMR of Government Medical Colleges.

Physiatrist treats Chronic Pain, Arthritis, Sport injuries and various Neurological, Musculoskeletal problems leading to pain, weakness and functional deficit.
In Bihar Department of PMR is fully functional in almost all Govt. Medical Colleges like AIIMS Patna, PMCH ,IGIMS ,NMCH . Out Patient Department (OPD) services are available at all places but In patients and Surgical services at present are available only at AIIMS Patna and PMCH.

Physiatrist under institutional and corporate hospital setting provides comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with Brain, Spinal injuries and various locomotor disabilities. They treat all such conditions by medical, surgical and with various newer PMR techniques and with methods of Regenerative Medicine. Physiatrist rehabilitates patients to their optimum functioning by focusing on their abilities to improve quality of life.

We as an association deal with various issues related to physiatrists upliftment by providing Continued medical education, conducting medical & health awareness camp, organizing conferences, webinar and workshops. It also promotes research amongst post graduate students and young physiatrist. We stand together to solve various issues of Divyangjan’s welfare. We also facilitate training of other medical and surgical specialists, Nurses, Paramedics and other health staff in addressing various rehab issues and promoting the inclusion of divayangjans in mainstream society, thus increasing the nation’s productivity.

We also coordinate with various government agencies NGO’s working in the field of disability rehabilitation. Time to time our association will issue guidelines and help the administration and government in framing various policies for the Divyanjangs upliftment.
