Mumbai Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was started in 2009 by the efforts of Dr. B D Athani, Dr. T Sreedhar and Dr. Anil Kumar Gaur for promoting the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
It was registered as a charitable trust in year 2010 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Since its inception, the association has organized many camps, patient welfare activities, conferences, workshops and lectures under its banner.
The members of the association have also worked for promoting the specialty in their individual capacities. Interaction with other specialties has helped in creating specialty related awareness among doctors from other fields.
Surgical rehabilitation workshops organized by the association every year is a very sought after academic program of the association.
